If you love traveling as much as I do, it's easy to feel unmotivated and even sad when back home.
The first trick I learned when I moved back home, from Italy, is to start planning another trip immediately. This gives you something to look forward to and if you can book the flight to make it offical, that's even better.
I have recently adopted, because not only am I a traveler I am a foodie, buying country cuisine themed cookbooks and try to recreate these dishes at home. Everyone who visits my house laugh at my spice rack, I always want the true authentic taste that I have in my food memories. So my pantry is LIT 🙌🏿😉 My Lisbon by @nunoviajante , have me fixed for grilled sardines and seafood rice. 🦐🐟🐙🇵🇹
Travelers do you have any tricks that keep you motivated until your next trip or until you are able to return to one of your favorite destinations?
--------------
Share some of the dishes you tried to recreate at home or that you will now after reading this post.

What's your favorite cookbook that reminds you have a special destination?
--------------- Food can help you refuel your passion for travel and cultures at home, especially if you can't travel right now dont feel discouraged. .

Nothing makes me miss Portugal more than Pastéis de Nata. These egg custard tarts are to die for. #ProTip have them the local way topped with cinnamon and powered sugar, thank me later.
The second pic is my first experience at the popular Pastéis De Belém, thank God you cant see my face having a foodgasm. It's now one of my favorite souvenirs to share with friends back in NYC. This time I shared them a friend who was an expat in China, and associated these tarts with China cuisine, I almost gasped, but she was on to something. Those nomadic Portuguese colonizers made their way to Macau which became one of their main ports of trade until 1999. So here we have another global food shared experience in 2 different cultures. Food always seem to connect people and culture, it always amaze me. She voted and said the Portuguese were much better.
Ok looking for the best place in NYC that makes these babies, please share your recommendations. I will forever be grateful. .

Reflections from a Side Hustler: That face you make when you just bodied your week. I still have a long list of to-dos for the weekend. But its finally on a list at least, lol. Just soaking in this moment of gratitude for pushing thru and making this an extremely productive week.
Made some progress but lost some opportunities, but it comes with the journey, only this helps me narrow down my focus for the next 3 months.

Its still Wine Crush Wednesday and I am still on a Portuguese wine high. Starting with Vinho Verde, Green Wine, the other white meat (lol get it). @and_wines owned by this beautiful couple who also happens to be engineers as well (its a very common thing in Portugal btw). Quinta de Santa Teresa is the home of A&D wines where they practice sustainable farming and anticipating their certification any day. They are doing things differently than what consumers assume about the blended and fizzy popular style of Vinho Verde.
Monologue or Monólogo is a sophisticated wine using Avesso as a single varietal, hand harvested from a single plot, P67 to be exact, is the perfect example of an adult Vinho Verde.
Tasting notes of bell pepper, white onion and sour cream, with nice medium body round texture on the finish.
Great pairing with meaty fish dishes like Senegalese Grilled Poisson Yassa seasoned and smothered in lemon, garlic and mustard sauce or a local favorite Dungeness Crab from seafood market of Matosinhos, Porto.

In Pursuit of Portugal
Back in Portugal after spending a month in this country back in November.
As a goal oriented person, I have tons of ideas however I still deal with fear, I just don't let it hold me back. Especially once I feel the fears of other people are affecting me. And knowing that have to trade comfort for progress, sounds good but we all rather be in a snuggie. Lol
My next chapter already scares me, it's going to be a lot of work. It's going to cost me a few things like money, time building relationships with family and friends, and most importantly sleep. But I realize that even though none of these may never be the same anymore for me if a good balance is found it will work, it's part of the journey.
Building in Portugal feels very natural and easy. I am putting out good vibes for this small step in my journey and that my pursuit for Portugal may not be convenient or make sense, I hope that I continue to work and live on my own standards .
So Cheers to being BOTH Here and There! And not being afraid to building a life simply around that.
